Hi Annette,

I asked around USAID and they aren't familiar with Evaluation Inception Reports. Might they go by another name?

That is interesting because Inception Reports are very often a requirement for conducting a USAID evaluation; or at least this is the case for global health. It is essentially the research protocols. We have our own outline for standard content but I was curious if USAID/PPL had specific guidance.

Hi Annette,

Indeed, inception reports/evaluation designs are a requirement for most evaluations. We will be releasing some additional resources to assist in the review of these documents this year.  They will accessible from this page of the Toolkit: https://usaidlearninglab.org/evaluation?tab=5&subtab=2.

Thanks for your question and interest in the Evaluation Toolkit.
